Steamed Dungeness Crab

I N G R E D I E N T S                      

  • 2 Dungeness crab clusters
  • 1 cup water
  • ½ cup white wine
  • 2 lemons, quartered
  • 3 tablespoons fresh basil or tarragon, minced
  • 2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning
  • 1 stick butter, melted
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

D I R E C T I O N S

  1. Mix the water, white wine, 1 lemon and 2 tablespoons of fresh basil in a large pan. Place a raised steamer basket in the pan and bring to boil over high heat.
  2. Place the Dungeness Crab clusters in the steam basket and sprinkle with Cajun seasoning. Cover the pan and steam for about 5 minutes, or until the crab is thoroughly heated.
  3. While the crab is steaming, mix the melted butter, remaining basil and Cajun seasoning in a small bowl.
  4. To serve, remove the Dungeness crab from the steamer and drain off the water. Serve on a plate with the butter sauce and remaining lemon wedges
