In 2002, Koen Vermunt, CEO of the Future Fish group, found his true passion: trading fresh fish. This is how Open Seas was born.
A few years later, Amacore Seafood was founded, focusing on selling frozen fish. Amacore represents a new way of doing business, where corporate social responsibility is central. Our business operations are based on the “triple P” principle: Planet, People and Profit. The name “AMACORE” reflects our values; “AMA” comes from the Latin “Amare,” meaning “to love,” and “CORE” stands for “heart,” symbolizing our heart for sustainable and fair trade.
As proud members of the Future Fish group, we have assembled a team of dedicated professionals and have our own production facility in the Netherlands. With this strong foundation, we have great ambitions to grow further and provide the world with high quality fish products.
