Oilfish

Oilfish, is also known as Escolar or Butter Mackerel. Our Oilfish comes from the sandy bottoms of the deep oceans around the countries of Indonesia, Vietnam and Taiwan. These species have an elongated body and can grow up to 2 meters long. The meat of Oilfish has a firm structure, intense flavor and is rich in omega 3 fatty acids. Easy and ideal for smoking, baking, grilling or steaming. That makes this fish very popular in (sushi) restaurants. At Amacore is Oilfish year round available as fillet, loin, steak and even as a saku block.
