Swordfish

Swordfish has a gray-blue back and an almost white belly. Characteristic of this fish is of course the extremely long upper jaw in the shape of a sword. The fish is named after this. Swordfish can reach a length of half a meter with a weight of up to 590 kg. It is a predatory fish that forages for food in the open sea or at the bottom of the sea. The Amacore Swordfish originates around the waters of Chile and lives mainly in schools of fish such as Tuna, Barracuda and Mackerel. The structure of the fish meat is firm and the taste can be described as unique. Swordfish is very popular in European cuisine because of its various preparation options, such as baking, grilling, poaching and steaming.
