Black cod

Black Cod belongs to the scorpion fish and the flatheads, but has nothing to do with Cod. This fish is also known internationally as Sablefish and can reach a length of 120 centimeters and a weight of 55 kilograms and can swim to a depth of 2700 meters. Characteristic of this fish is that the smaller species occur closer to the coast, the large species are found in the deeper parts of the ocean. The fish is usually frozen directly on board. Black Cod has a very refined taste and a high fat content. The color of the fillet is creamy white and is easy to dry, salt, smoke, cook, grill but also fry.
